Ducky rides again!
Last year we embarked on an epic journey through 7 countries in 7 days, starting in Cornwall and ending in the South of France. We travelled over 3000 miles through Europe and managed to raise over a £1000 for B:friend.
This year we are heading to Croatia, in the 'Split or Bust' Banger Rally Challenge! Once again we'll be travelling in our trusted, well-travelled Astra, 'Ducky', which is now 18 years old! We hope that with your help we can raise even more money for this amazing charity.
B:Friend match volunteers with isolated elderly people in neighbouring communities, helping to prevent loneliness with support & companionship in and around South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
So, to join us on our journey in the form of a 'Duck', you can get your name on a one of the many duck stickers by making a donation! The bigger the donation the bigger the duck (sticker)!
We are sticking to our 'Ey Up Duck' theme, as its a local saying here in the 'North' and something friends say to each other! We hope you follow our story over the next few months and help us spread the word to raise money for our chosen B:Friend.

The route and the challenges are still a mystery! All we know is that we start in Charlestown, Cornwall, getting a ferry from Portsmouth to France and finishing in Split, Croatia!
About b:friend
No one should have no one. B:friend’s mission is to combat loneliness and social isolation by matching isolated older neighbours with befriender volunteers who visit once a week for a chat and a cuppa. The charity currently supports around 1,000 older adults. Besides 1:1 befriending, they also bring older neighbours together at 11 weekly Social Clubs in South Yorkshire and Chesterfield, with a different activity every week to boost meaningful community connections and well-being, from dancing and making mocktails to mindful crafts and creative writing.
